Gold Star is no exception to this rule. Mr. Satish R Shah laid the foundation of one of the best jewellery making and largest jewellery exporting companies in 1962. The core values of the company of integrity and assurance of authenticity have seen Gold Star rise from its humble beginnings to become a key player in the international diamond market today.

In 1959, Mr. Satish R Shah began a diamond cutting and polishing venture. After three years of gaining knowledge on the know-how of the trade he finally established Gold Star Diamonds Pvt Ltd as a part of the R. T. Group of Companies in 1962.

It was his vision that saw the company grow from strength to strength, and Gold Star made its first foray into international waters in 1966 with the import of rough diamonds.

A strong ethical code and adherence to fair trade practices saw Gold Star Diamonds Pvt Ltd become a Sightholder on the Diamond Trade Company list in 1982. The DTC, today known as the De Beers Global Sightholder Sales is a list of authorized bulk purchasers of rough diamonds. In just 16 years after it entered the international diamond market, Gold Star was included among the list of top companies in the business in the world.

In the year 1990, after being established as a diamond exporter, it was time to sail new seas. Mr. Satish R. Shah with his team, set up a new endeavor under the name of Gold Star Jewellery Ltd. A 15k sq. ft area and 165 employees marked the beginning of Gold Star’s entry into the business of jewellery manufacturing.

Immediately in 1994, to cater to the trends of wax setting process and supplement its jewellery business, Royal Star Jewellery Pvt Ltd was set up.

The year 2001 saw the rise of two other important business verticals under the flagship Gold Star banner.

The Gold Star Trading Unit was established to focus on the supply of diamonds to the manufacturing units while the Gold Star Corporate Soution Pvt Ltd was started to extend key management services.

In jewellery, the design is an expression of love, faith, attitude and so many attributes. This was the key insight which led to the initiation of Gold Star Design, a venture which had the sole aim of catering to the design needs of the clients.

2007-08 saw Gold Star strengthen its position globally with the foundation of Gold Star International Ltd., Gold Star Rous and Gold Star Europe, the latter two tapping and catering exclusively to the European client base.
